Hi Steve

Just to say thanks for a brilliant day out last Saturday. Everyone enjoyed it and many of us had glowing faces afterwards! After spending so long staring at the Isle of Sheppey, Les and I decided to go on holiday there - just for the afternoon yesterday. We actually had a really good day there and we ended it with a drink at the Harty Ferry Inn where, we discovered, the Greta was used to deliver a barrel of Spitfire when the new restaurant opened! She certainly gets around! We even plan to return next month to go to the Blue Town Music Hall. All life is there.

Hope you like the picture of Ludo.

Thanks again.

Hi Steve,

Just to say thanks very much for the trip we had with you last Tuesday 1st July which we all greatly enjoyed and the weather was perfect for us non-seagoing types!

We had a brief conversation about WW2 liberty ships and the name of the one that I couldn't remember was the s.s. Jeremiah O'Brien  http://www.ssjeremiahobrien.org .  She visited London in 1994 for the 50th D day anniversary.   Strewth - was it really so long ago!

DEAR Steve,

Just a short note to thank you and your crew for such an amazing day – EVERYONE was bowled over by Greta and you and your team – my guests were not aware of where they were going or what they were doing and I must admit not to having any pre conceptions but if I had any inkling of what you would offer I would not have believed it.

To have Ludo and Alfie on board just made it even more fun

I know the weather always helps but Greta is beautiful and you have made it so luxurious and your service and style are just amazing I was so impressed and hope to make a return visit one day – they say you should never go back but this is one rule I am going to break

Please pass our sincere thanks to all of your team and I hope to see you all again one day

With sincere wishes

Dear Steve

With regard to our trip  on Greta of Thursday 22nd May We would like to extend a huge thank you (apologies for the delay in writing but life took over a bit for a while!) for welcoming us on board your home, Greta for the day, giving us such a marvellous time and for providing us with such warm hospitality. Despite the slight dampener in the middle, it was an unforgettable experience and we have all taken away very happy memories of the day.

We very much look forward to being able to join you at another time but until then many thanks again.

Best wishes

Anthony Sherwin and his guests.

Dear Steve
On behalf of the whole group I would like to thank you and Rob for giving us such a pleasant and memorable day out.  I am pretty sure that you will find some spin off as quite a few of our party were talking of taking others on a trip.
Wishing you every success in the future.

Dear Steve,

Just a line on behalf of my son and myself for a truly great day out
yesterday (Weds). We both really enjoyed it, and for my son in particular, who did dinghy sailing at school up to a couple of years ago but then had to give it up, it was great to get back on the water and experience a rather larger craft. We also appreciated the utterly professional, yet totally relaxed atmosphere on board. I very much hope that we will be able to sail with you again at some point in the future. The Greta is very special and we wish you well in keeping her afloat for a long time to come.

All the best, and thanks again, John

Hello Steve

just wanted to say the sailing trip on Sunday 5th July was really superb.

Thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere the whole day was a treat , to get away from day to day mundane existence.

Would you please thank Penni for being so kind, she knew I was particularly terrified of the quayside ladder (up and down)  a very kind and considerate lady. I really liked her company.

thank you again, hope to be in Whitstable again.

sincerely Brenda Cooper.

We had a good turn out for our second AGM on Sunday the 12th June

like to thank all those who braved the weather to attend.

Our main raffle prize "A Trip on the Greta Thames Sailing Barge" was
won by Dave and Di they had a wonderful day out. Dave and Di said," We
had a brilliant seven hours at sea, full of interest and fun, with
very congenial company. We took our grandson with us too. He enjoyed
it so much that he didn't want to get off at the end. Highlights for
him were the seals we were taken to see and two, on board, cute little

Hello! Steve,
I was on Greta yesterday with my Uncle Norman & a friend who's
Dad was celebrating his 80th. I just want to say a BIG THANK YOU!! on
behalf off all of us.
We all enjoyed our day & feel we were very lucky with the weather
considering how it has been of late, i was especially impressed with
your casual approach! (not constantly pointing out all sorts of health
& safety issues) & treating us like grown ups rather than idiots!! I
also liked the constant cups of tea, & best of all THE DOGS!!

I know you must get sent loads & loads of pic's  but here are a few more!!

                  Thanks Again Maureen Furlong

Thank you Maureen. Glad you all enjoyed the trip. Have a look at the slide show of your pictures by clicking on the picture above

Hi Penni

We felt that we really should write to let you know that we thoroughly
enjoyed our trip on the Greta on Tuesday 14 June. It was an experience
we are very pleased not to have missed. In fact we are considering
taking another trip next year.

Steve and Robert were very helpful and interesting when answering our
many questions. They are obviously both extremely experienced seamen
and we felt quite comfortable and safe whilst in their care. Steve
also kept us well topped up with drinks throughout the day.  Ludo and
Alfie were very friendly, especially when we started eating our lunch.

We have attached a selection of eight pictures we took on the day and
hope that you find them interesting. We actually took a total of 85!

Once we were back on dry land, we felt that we did not thank Steve and
Robert properly and hope that this little note will put that right.
Thank you Steve and Robert very much for a super day.

Kind regards
Ruth and Richard Coleman

Thank you so much for a most wonderful, unforgettable experience.  Everyone was simply bowled over by everything.  It was like some force had conspired to make the whole trip perfect,  including yourselves, fabulous weather, a kind sea, over-flights by biplanes, the seals and the Kingswear Castle Paddlesteamer saluting as it sailed past.  I hope we were reasonably well-behaved and not too raucous.  I know none of us knew what to expect but what we experienced exceeded anything we could have hoped for.

Again, thank you both very, very much

Steve said you all had a lovely day, and it was just a shame that Alfie and Ludo were home with me as I am sure they would have added their own force to the day.

I hope you choose to sail with us again one day.

On behalf of the NCI group, I would like to add a testimonial to your website as follows:

Thank you for taking our group to the Red Sands Maunsell sea forts and the offshore wind farm. Our trip was very relaxing, partly due to a lack of wind (!) and convivial. A lot of banter and chatting was had by all and the numerous cuppas were gratefully received!

I really enjoyed my day out on Greta. What a beautiful boat, and so fascinating to see both wildlife and  the coastal landscape from her decks. I went on the trip by myself but everyone on board was very friendly and inclusive, and the crew were a real laugh. Thank you Steve!
